The eleventh unique experience created in Moment Factory’s Lumina night walk series is Terra Lumina in Scarborough, Ontario. After nightfall at the Toronto Zoo, you are invited to pursue an immersive experience along a 1.5 km walking path traveling into the future and back. Your journey begins when a portal carries you into the luminescent wonders of the year 2099, a time when humans and nature have learned to live in harmony. Let yourself be transported by vibrant lighting, multimedia effects, breathtaking video projections, and an original score to an enchanted world filled with possibility. And explore this bright and hopeful future to reveal the powerful secrets of tomorrow.
Safety Protocols
The Toronto Zoo and Terra Lumina will implement a site-wide mandatory vaccine policy for all guests, members, contractors, vendors, and business partners eligible to receive the approved COVID-19 vaccines beginning October 25, 2021. PLEASE, do not enter the Toronto Zoo if:
- You’re ill or experiencing any one of the following symptoms of COVID-19. These include fever, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, runny nose (not related to allergies), sore throat, loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or difficulty swallowing. - Wearing official coverings or masks for persons 2+ years of age indoors, in closed spaces, or crowds.
- Effective hygiene measures like; washing your hands often, using alcohol-based hand sanitizer, and coughing and sneezing etiquette.
Accessibility
The Toronto Zoo of Scarborough is committed to welcoming all guests to experience our Terra Lumina Night Walk. Please be advised that this is an outdoor event, and our guests are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather. Along with the Terra Lumina Night Walk experience, expect extended walking and standing. There are elements of the show that may require the ability to navigate a single step onto a platform and areas with a gradual grade in the path. This experience has a low light viewing, which may challenge those with vision issues. Loud sounds and strobe lighting effects are used during this show. Guests who may have epilepsy or are affected by visual light stimulation effects are advised to contact zoo staff before taking a walk.
